             Spotlight! Fountaine Pajot Orana 44

Fountaine Pajot Orana 44 Maestro (Owners Version)

This is a great opotunity to aquire an “as new” modern spacious cruising catamaran in an ideal Caribbean location.
With moorings available at the Prestigious  Resort “The Landings” on the picturesque island of St Lucia.
Presently the yacht is being cared for by Ulrick at DSL Yachting who would just love to introduce this beautiful Yacht into his charter fleet under management, so the optunity for this option is a real prospect if required.
The Orana is a versatile catamaran with it’s owners layout, well designed and spacious. This one has been pampered and is in perfect condition throughout and fully loaded.

This is one of the most well equipped catamarans that has passed through our hands and she has only improved since her delivery in 2007 and was sold by us from new.
A definite 5 star catamaran and ready to go anywhere and looking for a loving new owner. A must see!
The first to lay their eyes on this yacht will buy her, without doubt.

                      Spotlight! Jaguar 36

This cat has got the cream!
At 36ft I do not think you would find a better or more spacious layout than this unique design for its size on any other cat.
A chance to acquire this vessel in the right place to explore the Med is an opportunity not to be missed.
Three of these cats have passed through our hands now and this is undoubtably the best yet.
Improved and looked after being constantly upgraded this is a bargain and what could you buy in comparison for this kind of money.
Make a reasonable offer or the owner may consider part exchange, car , boat, property.. anything interesting.

                               Latest News

Latest news / Flash cat 52s
From the Flash Cat stable at last they are producing a sleek performance cruising sailing catamaran in Spain!
After introducing their successful power catamaran range they have been going from strength to strength.
Now building the range in Valencia host of the Americas Cup event in 2007.
Designed by the renowned French Naval Architect Eric Lerouge and using   the very latest materials and build techniques with liberal use of Kevlar, Carbon Fibre. Powered by twin 40hp Yanmars this will be a real flying machine. Flash Catamarans have promised that there will be a finished example to see in the Autumn of 2013.
    Isara 45
Now on hull number three for the Isara 50 and an order taken for the new 55 Isara Yachts have promises of three imminent orders for the new 45 designed by the Guru of catamaran design Naval Architects Jean Jaques Coste and  Roel De Groot.

The 45 bristling with new design features will not disappoint fans of the Isara 50. In fact, because of the unique carbon arch design with the mast stepped on top of the coachroof, I would imagine that the boat will have not a lot less usable space than the 50.

With the saloon, cockpit, and aft platform all being on the same level with high bridge deck clearance, and a large flybridge extending over the cockpit and saloon.
Seating gathered nicely around the trampoline is an ideal spot to relax for the whole family.

Isara Yachts boast more usable space than any other catamaran currently in production, with her new narrow entry hulls and concentrated weight reduction, promises to be a contender in the performance market also, without any compromise in the luxury and build quality previously enjoyed on the 50.

The Isara 45 will be a real show stealer, and can not wait to get one in Europe And USA to present at the shows.
( There is a genuine deal to be had right here, right now for anyone who will help us with this idea)
    SELLING YOUR BOAT
    PHOTOGRAPHS:
Get some decent photographs taken inside and out of cabins, heads, inside lockers, engine rooms, rigging, sails, electronics, galley, hulls, tender, outboard.
It is well worth taking your time and staging the photographs, no beer bottles or laundry hanging in the background.
If there are some of the yacht sailing even better. With an iPhone or iPad it is easy these days to do a walk round video, which we can put on Youtube.
At a cost we can arrange to take professional shots for you, but generally if you can point an iPhone or camera phone this will be fine.
You can never have enough photographs!
    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
    Engine hours including  generator?
    Sail area?
Age of standing rigging (10 yrs replacement required by insurance Company)?
    History?
    Has the boat been chartered?
    Last engine service?
    Last antifouled?
    Known faults?
    PREPARING YOUR BOAT FOR SALE

Presentation is very important buyers are not easy to find sometimes you have just one shot, so make it count.

The time to fix torn bimini, sail bag and gel cote chips is before the viewings start not after. It will cost more in the long run as it will be an excuse for the buyer to reduce the asking price.

Make sure the boat is anti fouled to start with anodes changed, skin fittings checked.
De clutter the whole boat including exterior lockers, cupboards, etc. it is amazing after owning a boat for a few years how much junk you accumulate.
Old outboards, five anchors, enough rope to tie up a battleship! three copies of the same pilot book, fuel containers, etc, etc. You can save a few knots by the weight reduction.

The main reason for lack of viewings is location, location, location. You maybe saving some money in mooring costs on a remote Greek island, but if it makes things difficult and expensive for people to get to see the boat it may cost more in the long run, if you really do want to sell your boat.
If there is no adequate travel lift nearby and they have to get an expensive crane in for lift out and a surveyors including his travel costs report it will only add to the buyers costs and make your boat less attractive.
Try to get it somewhere there is a good international airport not far away.
Americans are buying boats in Europe and Europeans are buying boats in America.
If anyone has a long transatlantic flight then has to hire a car for an 8 hour drive and then jump on a ferry, then beat there way through the jungle for a few hours with a bush machete, they may not be in a buying mood by the time they eventually get to the boat.

Clean it properly or pay someone to do it. I mean woman clean not man clean!
Worldwide Catamarans will do a proper pre sale clean  at a cost if you can not find anyone reliable in any location.

If you are due to have the boat lifted out you may be wise to pay for a hull survey by an accredited professional surveyor. This will save any purchaser costs of lifting the boat again. You can normally sell the survey to a buyer or at least ask for a contribution to this payment. If anything does show up on the survey it will at least give you chance to get it sorted before a buyer comes along rather than risk losing the sale.
MAKE SURE THAT THE SHIPS PAPERS ARE IN ORDER
    • Certificate of insurance ( all marinas require this )
    • Registration Certificate
    • CE Certificate (Certificate of conformity)
    • Previous Bill of Sale's
    • Original factory invoice
    • Proof of VAT / TVA / IVA status if sold in EU
    • Signed Sales Purchase Agreement
    • If the boat is owned by a company more papers will be required such as a  copy of : (notorised copies are required in the USA)
    • Articles of Association
    • Corporate Resolution to Sell (signed by official nominated Directors on the Registration Certificate)
    • Certificate of Good Standing
    • Details of any loans, marine mortgages , fines or Liens that may be registered.
As a Broker it is very frustrating if you get a potential buyer at last to commit to at least view the boat you have listed.
The buyer has spent a lot of money on flights, hotel and expenses and the boat is in a bad state when they arrive.

I had one client travel from America to view a catamaran we had for sale in Barcelona. The owner told us that it was in good condition, well maintained, but when I arrived with the buyer, the boat was in a real state. Bikes and cockpit cushions  were piled inside, rotten food was decomposing in the fridge, bins were full and smelling.  It was not good, two years of weed and barnacles were hanging on to the hulls, anodes had not been changed. Sails were not covered and tatty looking.
The decks were dirty and hulls looked dull and lacked luster. Not a good first impression to present to any potential buyer.
Thank you for reading our latest newsletter and whatever you are sailing, make sure you have fun on the water this year.

    Kind regards
