Yes, July has arrived and the season is in full swing on this side of the Atlantic, while everyone is scurrying for Hurricane holes the other side!

Jane, together with Peter our Web Guru (with some input from me) have got some new ideas for the website which will be constantly improving to hopefully keep you coming back for more. I drive them nuts with my fine tweaking of the site but hopefully it will be worth it!

Our latest news is that we are working as Agents for UK and Europe for the Knysna range of Catamarans built in South Africa both the 440 and the 480 are built to a very high standard fully equipped. Due to the exchange rate against the South African Rand these cats are exceptional value for money. The factory only builds 5 catamarans a year and there is a waiting list, but boy is it worth the wait!
 

My friend Kenny has just purchased one and is very happy with his boat. If you wanted to try before you buy, Kenny does skippered charters on his Knysna 480 in BVI. The Knysna team seem to be a nice bunch to work with and Kenny has nothing but praise for the boat and the company in general.

We are desperately seeking more catamarans and monohulls anywhere in the world to add to our brokerage listings as we have many clients searching for boats, catamarans and monohulls in particular for the €80 - €200,000 price range. Wherever you are, we want your boat!

Many catamaran owners had their initial experience in cats from sailing beach cats similar to Hobie Cats or Darts before they turn their interest to cruising, so we are keen to promote these exciting fun cats as an introduction to sailing. Jane has been working hard on our On-line Shop  and have new products coming on-line all of the time, such as replacement catamaran trampoline nets made to measure or standard sizes ready made to fit most brands. We a spending some time researching various useful gadgets, marine equipment and stuff that every boat owner would find useful or fun. Also some great gift ideas for Birthdays and Christmas.

 

We also have a fantastic new marine quality aluminium and stainless steel folding electric bike with an optional folding trailer (which can also be used as a marina trolley).

This is not to be confused with the cheap folding electric bikes available which have the life span of about a month and only work with some hard pedalling. These are real quality made and come with a two year warranty with no questions asked. Every boat owner should have one or two!

Every cat owner should also check out the new Takacat tenders they are fast, light, stable and fun. Much more room than a conventional RIB and less strain on the davits. They are a real sensible option and I am sure that once owners of catamarans catch on to these, every cat will have one hanging between the hulls.

They fold flat and easily fit on top of the average family car. The stability makes them ideal for fishing and a much smaller outboard is required offering the equivalent performance. This means that there is less of a struggle lifting from the outboard bracket to the tender, only requiring a small outboard.

With a option of a centre console fitted it makes this a very versatile inflatable. Any weight saving you can make on your catamaran as you know, it helps.
